Pasture Raised Meat, Since 1896

We are a small, diversified family farm that has been growing pasture raised livestock in the Big Bottom Valley near Randle, WA since 1896. Our goal is to continue to improve and protect the ecological resiliency of our farm and the health of the land we steward. We steward our farm as a vibrant and living ecosystem and believe it will grow and bloom in ways better than we ever imagined if we work with nature, not against it. We are grass farmers that grow nutrient dense proteins naturally without the use of: hormones, antibiotics or steroids. We aim to improve local biodiversity and our farm's soil fertility through rotational grazing and agroforestry practices while producing nourishing food.

PASTURE RAISED

Our laying hens eat no-GMOs, no corn and no soy. They eat Premium Layer Feed from Spokane’s Natural Farm Feed made of triticale, barley, peas, camelina, organic kelp meal and organic wheat middlings.

As soon as our hens are old enough to leave the warmth and safety of the brooder, they are foraging out in the grass of our fields and orchard here in the Big Bottom Valley. They self load themselves into a mobile coop in the field at night and unload themselves in the morning when are ready to go foraging.

Heritage and production breed laying hens freely range within portable electric netting in our field to keep them safe from predators. They spend most of their day hunting bugs, scratching in the grass and dust bathing.

Born and raised on the lush pastures of our family farm, our sheep are grass fed and grass finished. They never receive steroids, hormones or antibiotics. By raising lambs naturally, humanely and regeneratively, we are grow flavorful, nutrient-packed protein for families.

We shepherd our sheep to fresh grass paddocks every 2 days so that they always have the best and most diverse forage available for consumption. This makes for a healthier sheep, better biodiversity on our farm and healthier, less compact soils.

Kiko goats are hardy and resilient. Ours are given no antibiotics, no dewormers and we never trim hooves.

We manage our Kiko goats for natural brush control on our farm so that we do not poison our soils with chemicals. They readily eat himalayan blackberry, snowberry, vine maple and defoliate just about any plant they come across.

Kiko goats are low maintenance and require less inputs than other meat goat breeds.
